::Tensioning System::
I have been working on a more advanced tensioning system for tracked vehicles. This systems integrates the use of a sleeved axle riding
through a plate bearing. This system will reduce the likelihood of axles bending due to the stress of their tensioning systems. The current models and
animations I have posted only show the plate bearing portion of the tensioning system. I hope to soon have a complete model of the entire system. This system
will not only reduce wear on tension axles, but should also increase the speed at which these vehicles travel due to the nature of its design.

::Sketchup J5 Recon Robot::
I played around with Sketchup a little bit in the past, but never spent enough time
working with the software to ever complete a design idea. Recently, I decided to take a more
serious approach to learning to use the software. It seems like a waste to not make use of
such a great product, especially when it is free to the masses.
I love the idea of being able to dream up an idea and put it into 3-D form with "relative" ease. While it still takes me a
day and a half to do a simple project like my video rover, it is my hope that I will eventually
be able to harness the power of the program and use it to quickly generate tangible drafts of
ideas as they come to me.
If you haven't taken the time to mess around with Sketchup, I would definately recommend
giving it a serious attempt. For myself, it has been a truly amazing experience so far. My biggest
hope is that I will soon be able to create exact copies of what I see in my mind instead of having
to adjust my 3-D ideas due to my lack of ability.

::techexplorer v1::
The current design for techexplorer is completely basic. I am relearning many things about website development. In my previous life on the web, I used only HTML/PERL/CGI/ and sadly.. tables. Developers really seem to hate tables nowadays. Anyway, I am really enjoying my journey through designing a tableless website and learning to use simple parts of php to make my site easier to manage. I am truly loving all the things that I am learning to do, and to think the design of this site was just going to be a means to a completely different end. I hope to be fortunate enough to continue learning useful design elements. Most of all, I hope the site is useful for you! ::11DEC2008::
::fun with electronics::
I received a shipment of new parts today which will be used to make some little bug bots. The kids like watching them fly around banging into stuff. I guess the two aren't so different. hehe. :: 19NOV2008 ::

The intent and purpose of techexplorer is that of an easily accessible repository of notes and points of interest. All of my endeavors will be kept here both for my own access and amusement, but also for yours as well. It is my hope that what you find here will be found helpful and interesting. I do not claim that all content or projects listed herein are solely based on my own discoveries. Instead, this site is like one big book of all the resources i use personally. I don't like saving bookmarks in a browser, this site is my bookmark and can yours as well. Enjoy! :: 19NOV2008 ::
